This song was never recorded, and it's too bad because it's a rockin' number with some
great imagery.   Sort of a chemistry experiment in sex, know what I mean?

Oxygen to a Flame

Like oxygen to a flame you feed my fire
Like coal inside an oven I need your fuel
Like acrobats doing tricks up on a wire
You and me are diving into an empty pool
You're taking my loving, you turn on the heat
The message is pounding a Bo Diddley beat
You knock us together, you get an awful shock
You make an explosion, you want to stop the clock
Like oxygen to a flame, you're gonna need more, more, more

Like oxygen to a flame you always get a reaction
Uranium brought together makes an atom bomb
People like you and me never get satisfaction
The eye of a hurricane appears to be calm
So don't feed my fever, don't turn on my flame
Don't bet your loving unless you know my game
Don't pull my trigger unless you've shot before
Don't tickle my fancy, I'm a man of war
Like oxygen to a flame, you're gonna need more, more, more

Like oxygen to a flame you feed my fire
Like coal inside an oven I need my fuel
You're coming on like a Bo Diddley beat
You and me are diving into an empty pool
Like oxygen to a flame, you're gonna need more, more, more

Commentary:

Again with my fascination for Bo Diddley and his super sexy beat! And this song really had one too. Once again I used a science theme to express some pretty intense sexuality - a bit of self confidence there? I love my line about diving into an empty pool, something I never wanted to do because it would be pretty painful, wouldn't it? I would conk my wittle head on the conkwete! Many years later, Billy Idol hit upon the same line about more, more more, and his melody was even similar to mine. But I severely doubt that he stole it from me because I never recorded this song so there's no way he could have known what I wrote. It's just a good example of how similar concepts occur to different songwriters at different times.
