Seminal Poetry

The pages listed here contain examples of poems which I wrote before I started writing songs, with the sole exception of the first one which was written in 1994 after the atomic bomb of divorce dropped on me. I think that the unspeakable poem is actually a very good one and it got listed on another web site which is devoted to poetry about pain because the web master thought it was excellent. After reading a bunch of other web sites devoted to poetry, I actually think that the rest of these are pretty decent for a kid like me, and it's also interesting to see how the repetitive nature of my poetry did lend itself to songwriting and how that all developed. So it's another archive because after all, it's my web site, isn't it?

1.     A Poem About the Unspeakable :   No comment necessary
2.     Mona Says :   Once upon a time, she was cool.
3.     Ripped Off Again :   Another one from 49 Prince Street, N.Y.C.
4.     Death Lament of an Ogalala Warrior :   A poem about genocide
5.     Music City :   Sour grapes from Peter Cross
6.     Pornographic Mind :   Oh, I knew myself from the beginning.
7.     Sister Carrie :   Sympathy for a nun
8.     Painter Among the Blind :   Good title.   Nuttin' there though.
9.     Lost Dreams :   The story of my life - really
10.   Lovely Laguna :   Ending this all on a positive note
