This is the Steam band shamelessly playing "Shameful".   It's a primitive live recording made in a freezing attic
during the winter in Syracuse and it's here simply because it's my web site, isn't it?

Shameful

I heard about your strange behavior baby, yes indeed
Seems like everybody's talking about you mamma, 'cept me
Well you got too smart and you slipped
Don't cha fat mouth me honey, 'cause I'm hip
It's you that has to go, you know, you're shameful

I left you with the boss man, burnin' like a pot on the stove
(hot pot, shot on the stove)
Then I came back and caught cha mamma, sneaking through the bedroom door
(hot shot, shot in your stove)
Well that's it, I got hip, I almost busted that man in his lip
I said it's you that's got to go, you know, you're shameful

You like to think you come on strong babe, I know it's an act
Well I'm not gonna let you down easy mamma, it's a fact
All your runnin' around ain't gonna get you no white tornado, no it isn't honey
I said it's you that's got to go, you know, you're shameful

Peter Cross is the songwriter and Don Bosson is the lead singer.

Commentary:

I brought Don into Steam and I thought he had a great singing voice so I asked him to sing lead on Shameful because I didn't think I had the vocal style to bring off the kind of vocal I had written the song for. Don lives in South Lake Tahoe with his beloved wife Janice and their two sons, David and Ryan. To me, Don and Janice are ideal parents and they are also the ideally faithful husband and wife. They work hard at keeping their relationship exciting and interesting, and they brought their sons up with high ideals, a sense of purpose, and the good kind of ambition to be the best that they can be. If I were to say that I'm super proud of Don, that would be an understatement he really doesn't need to hear.

Don and Janice are both real estate agents and they work as a successful team together. If anybody who reads this is even thinking about buying a home in Lake Tahoe, nobody can or will do a better job of getting you exactly what you are looking for at the best possible price, and even making what is normally a stressful buying experience enjoyable for you. Just click on Meet the Agents to see Don and Janice's photo, and then click on the link below their photo to read all about them.

By the way, Don never was a songwriter but he did make one very significant change to Steam's recorded version of Shameful that was inspired by his dog. Don has always loved dogs and he always has at least one. He changed the first line in the second verse to "I left you with the bog dog, burnin' like a pot on the stove". That's the line Joel Selvin fixated on when he fell off his bar stool on that memorable night at the Orphanage in San Francisco because we lied to him and said the song was about bestiality. At that time, we would have said anything to get a good review and the story is in The Peter Cross Montage.
