Yoga Songs

During the period when I was studying Integral Yoga, I discovered that the timeless Hindu mantras were catchier than the catchiest hit songs I had ever heard. They got stuck in my mind like great barbed fish hooks and I was inspired to write songs using the mantras as the basis for my choruses. I was also consciously trying to use my talent to express a positive spiritual message. I wrote many yoga songs, but only four of them were recorded and saved by Swami Karunananda (which is a good thing because I lost my copies). Here they are:

1.   Hari Om:   Classic song with a rock twist on the universal Hari Om mantra.
2.   The White Swan:   Beautiful ballad written about Swami Karunananda.
3.   Sivaya Namah:   Rocking number written about Sri Swami Satchidananda Maharaj, the Great Guru.
4.   Hey Ram:   A spiritual Bo Diddley groove which I have no idea whether Bo would appreciate.
